Donald E. Cochran was born July 15, 1920, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Virgil E. and Hazel O. Cochran. He died Saturday, November 15, 2014 in Kerrville, Texas. \r\n \r\nHe is survived by son, Bruce Cochran of Plano, Texas; daughter, Donna Allen of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughter, Pamela Clack of Kerrville; 9 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Eugene Cochran of Mesa, Arizona, and a sister, Evelyn Gaffga of Waco, Texas. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Monteith Cochran in 1997, daughter, Tiana Spangler in 1994, and his second wife, Loretto Bonner Cochran in 2012.\r\n \r\nDonald was a graduate of Drury College, Springfield, Missouri and of Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. He served as a Methodist Minister in Missouri, California, and Texas from 1939 to 1961. He was a civilian employee of the Department of the Army from 1962 to his retirement in 1992, when he moved to Kerrville.\r\n \r\nWith his wife, Loretto, he served as a grant writer for the Raphael Community Free Clinic. He served on the Board of the Hill Country Youth Orchestra as well as the Board of the Dietert Community Center. He was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir.\r\n \r\nResurrection Mass will be at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 2 PM with Monsignor Mike Boulette as celebrant. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.\r\n \r\nThe family suggests that memorials be forwarded to Raphael Community Free Clinic, PO Box 291729, Kerrville, Texas 78029-1729.\r\n \r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
