Dona Meta (Mary) Klingemann, 93, of Kerrville, went to her eternal home with our Lord and Savior Sunday, October 9, 2016, ending her battle with Alzheimer's Disease.\r\n \r\nDona was born in Reedville, Texas to Herman Charles Kowald and Brunilde Isensee Kowald, on January 5, 1923. She graduated from New Braunfels High School, where she went to State in the shorthand competition. After the war she married James Charles Klingemann on June 7, 1947 in New Braunfels, Texas. She, James, and their two sons moved to Kerrville in 1959, when James was transferred to the Kerrville National Guard unit. Dona was a loving, devoted wife and mother whose cheerful attitude and smile was shared with all. Once her boys were grown, she enjoyed working at the Kerr County Clerk's office for 7 years. Dona taught herself to play the piano at 43 years of age and could play almost anything by ear. Her greatest joy was playing music twice a week for the children at Zion Lutheran Church Day Care for 20 plus years. She also played at the state hospital, numerous nursing homes, and friends' weddings.\r\n \r\nDona is preceded in death by her husband James, her parents, and her brother Charles Kowald.\r\n \r\nDona is survived by her sister, Nelvia Fischer, and husband Leland, of Marble Falls; brother Ken Kowald, and wife Ann, of Florida; sons Bill J. Klingemann, and wife Elaine, of Seguin, and Bob (Doc) Klingemann, and wife Teresa, of Kerrville; grandchildren, Brandy, Chris and wife Chelsea, James, and Matthew; great granddaughter Lacy Mae; nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.\r\n \r\nAlthough she will be missed by loved ones we take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her loving husband.\r\n \r\nFuneral services will be Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 am at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Kerrville, Texas. A graveside service will follow that afternoon at 3:30 pm at Comal Cemetery in New Braunfels.\r\n \r\nHonorary pallbearers will be Christopher Klingemann, James Klingemann, Matthew Klingemann, Weldon Schmidt, Galen Fischer, Cash Kowald, Craig Kowald, Chris Kowald, Barry Kowald, Brett Kowald and Leslie Dischinger.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Peterson Hospice or to the charity of one's choice. \r\n
