Don William Davenport of Bandera, Texas passed away on July 28, 2022, in Kerrville, Texas. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 16, 1942, to Jack and Emmie Davenport. He went on to marry Marilynn Ritcheson on November 27, 1960, in Bandera, Texas.

Don graduated from Bandera High School and went on to Southwest Texas State, later working as a manpower specialist. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving for 24 years with the United States Airforce, after his long career he gave another 22 years to the Army Civil Service. Don was a proud member of the Bandera United Methodist Church, serving on Emmaus and Kairos teams.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Emmie Davenport, Jack Edward Davenport, and many friends.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilynn Davenport, Children: Donna Davenport Johnson, Howard Johnson, John Edward Davenport, Cheri Davenport, Jack Alexander Davenport, Lisa Davenport, Marianne Davenport Gardner, and Bob Gardner.

Grandchildren; David and Tiffanie Deal, Stephen Deal Clayburn, Lauren Deal, Roxanne and Alex Gebhardt, Amanda Davenport, Katelyn Golden, Hayden Golden, Sierra and Josh Bailey, Ashley Davenport, Annette Davenport, Emily and Ryan Hall, Jack William Davenport, Stephanie Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Chris and Summer Cawthon, Baylor White, Mannah White, McKinley Gardner, Gunnison Gardner, Amanda Gardner, and Randall Gardner.

Great grandchildren; Haelea, August, Beau, Emmie Deal; Maddox and Indiana Deal; Cohen and Granger Deal; Ace and Amelia Gebhardt; Layah, Luna, Landon, Lora Lee Bailey; Ashton, Bailey, Cayden, Bricen Rivera; Aubrilyn Millan; Jubilee, Liberty, Shepherd Cawthorn; Abbi Johnson

Visitation will be held at Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel on Thursday, August 4, 2022, from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at Bandera United Methodist Church on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 11:00am with interment at a later date.

Memorials may be given to Bandera United Methodist Church, St. Jude’s, American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.

The family of Mr. Don William Davenport would like to give a special thank you to the nursing staff at Peterson Memorial Hospital, Dr. Eli Whitney, and Dr. Mark Rodriguez.
