Devry Samford

Devry Lynn Samford, age 64 of Center Point, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 in a San Antonio hospital. She was born August 28, 1952 in Corpus Christi to Hugh Edward Tyler and Ray Dean (Arlington) Tyler. \r\n \r\nDevry was a very God-fearing woman. She loved her family, her granddogs, and her favorite 3-legged cat, Zoey. She worked for Peterson Hospital for 15 years before her health forced her to retire. Devry also loved to write stories and was a member of the "All Poetry Club." \r\n \r\nShe will be greatly missed by her family and all of her writing friends.\r\n \r\nSurvivors include husband, Norvin Samford of Center Point; mother, Ray Dean Phelps; daughter, Desiree Samford (Vincent Sacca) of San Antonio; son, Derrick Samford of Center Point; sisters, Gwen Munson of Corpus Christi, Lori Beckner of Burnet and Debra Phelps of Morgan's Point, TX; and brother, Mark Tyler of Corpus Christi.\r\n \r\nServices will be held 2 PM, Friday, December 16, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Rev. Frankie Enloe. Interment will follow at Center Point Cemetery.\r\n
