Denise Hamilton

February 20, 1962 — September 26, 2021

Denise Lynne Hamilton, of Pipe Creek, gained her wings on Sunday September 26, 2021. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 20, 1962 to Leonard & Edna Willis. Denise graduated from Robert E Lee High School in 1980 and married her high school sweetheart Spud Hamilton on May 17, 1980. Spud and Denise moved to Pipe Creek and started a family. Denise and Spud raised three girls: Amanda, Robin and Samantha. Denise loved to play make believe with her girls. She enjoyed having tea parties and fairy gardens with the girls. She also enjoyed making clothes and costumes. She was a very talented artist and cook; she was known for her amazing feasts. When the girls enrolled in school Denise took a job with the school district. She was a 'Jenny of all Trades'; she worked as a substitute, nurse aide, office aide, redirect teacher, art and crossing guard. Parents and students looked forward each morning to see her smile as she welcomed students to school. Denise became a grandma in 2004. It was by far her favorite 'job'. Her name became 'Mo Mo' and she was known as 'Mo Mo' to every student she met. Denise loved the beach, karaoke, camping and her family. She looked forward each year to a trip to the Texas Renaissance Festival and made everyone's costumes for the event. Denise is preceded in death by her daddy Leonard. Denise is survived by her loving husband Spud, her girls Amanda (Bert), Robin (Nick), Samantha (Steven) and her grandsons: Jordan, Troy, Morgan, Brice, Ryker, Noah and Jonah and her mother Edna. Also an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and all of the students, parents and staff that she touched. A visitation will be held for Denise on Saturday October 2, at 9am at Western Heritage Cowboy Church in Pipe Creek. Services will begin at 10am. Pastor Cliff Hargrove will be officiating. Reception to follow at the Pipe Creek Community Center. The family would like to thank the team at University Hospital for all of their care and support. Dr. Lacoss, Dr. Sheridan, Dr. V, and her nurses Leo and Shane. Also thank you to her many coworkers at Hill Country Elementary, and the worship team at Western Heritage Cowboy Church. I think the most fun was at the coast Singing karaoke on the beach. She touched so many people with her great attitude and smile. Our deepest sympathy for spud and her entire family. Rest in peace Denise we love you. Chris Pellegrino & Dr. Nita Wallace Denison, TX Wednesday, September 29, 2021 Our sincere condolences! For 15 years, we were blessed as Denise & Spud's neighbors, just a few properties between us. From day one, Denise gave us the most wonderful & spirited "welcome to the neighborhood" & remained our dear friend. Years ago, she gave us Christmas Elves, made from homemade crafts & her imagination, which adorn our home every December! Always putting her family 1st, she always made sure friends had a place to celebrate & food to eat...if not, join her & Spud at their home. If she cooked a new recipe or made one of her favorite dishes, she would be at our back door with a sample for us to share. As educators, the three of us would discuss educational techniques, philosophies, & our love of teaching, knowing we were making a difference in students' lives. Denise adored her husband Spud, the love of her life, her hero, her warrior, & her children & grandchildren were God's precious gifts in her daily life & legacy. As her friends, we will miss her thoughtfulness, her loving nature, & her laughter, but we were blessed to know her, & will remain friends of the family, always. Prayers & loving friendship, Chris & Nita Glennda Wilke Lake Hills, TX Wednesday, September 29, 2021 Our deepest sympathies to your family. She was one of the first to help me when I first moved here. She shared her children and grandchildren with me so I wouldn't miss mine so much. She did decorations for everything I needed. I will forever keep my bouquet from my wedding. I loved her straight, no nonsense advice. Her smile showed her soul. I love you Denise. Karaoke won't be the same without you.
