On December 8, 2015, Jesus called David R. Rodriguez home. He was 63 years old, born June 11, 1952 in Alice, Texas to Adan Rodriguez and Lydia Ramirez Rodriguez. He married his high school sweetheart, Thelma Herrera, on November 12, 1969 in Alice, Texas.\r\n \r\nDavid attended William Adams High School in Alice, Texas and later attended Midland College in Midland, Texas. He had a love for the oilfield working for over 30 years in oilfields, and worked for Southern Pacific railroad for 7 years. The twenty years he resided in Midland, he was a member of Jesus Way House of Prayer.\r\n \r\nDavid's love for the Lord and his faith blessed him and brought him through all his trials and illnesses. He loved to fish, BBQ, and dance. He was also an avid sports enthusiast. He coached both of his son's Little League teams when they were young.\r\n \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, Adan Rodriguez and Lydia Ramirez Rodriguez and his brother, Daniel Rodriguez, along with his parents-in-law, Jose M. Herrera and Alicia Ibanez Herrera.\r\n \r\nSurvivors include his wife, Thelma H. Rodriguez; three daughters, Lisette (Mike) Cowger of Hobbs, New Mexico, Yvette (Lety) Rodriguez of Midland, Texas and Kristina (Mauricio) Maya of Kerrville, Texas; two sons, David (Rachel) Rodriguez of Tuscola, Texas and Joseph (Brandi) Rodriguez of Midland, Texas. He has one sister, Bodie (Frank) Rivera of Alice, Texas; four brothers, Adan (Cheryl) Rodriguez Jr. of Hutto, Texas, Rolando Rodriguez of Austin, Texas, Reynaldo (Beebee) Rodriguez of Alice, Texas, and Gustavo (Diana) Rodriguez of Alice, Texas. He was blessed with six grandsons, eleven granddaughters, one great grandson and one great granddaughter. He loved to be surrounded by family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. \r\n \r\nRosary will be at 7 PM Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Rosas Funeral Home in Alice, Texas.\r\n \r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, December 14, 2015 at Rosas Funeral Home followed by graveside service at Collins Cemetery, officiated by Pastor David Rodriguez.\r\n \r\nPallbearers will be Joseph Rodriguez, Mike Cowger, Adan Rodriguez Jr., Frankie Rivera, Omar Bernal and Louie Garza.\r\n
