Dan Mooney

In memory of our beloved husband, Daddy, Papaw, brother, uncle and friend who went home to be with his Lord, surrounded by his family and friends. \r\n \r\nDan Mooney, born August 9, 1931 in Del Rio, TX, passed away in San Antonio, TX on January 25, 2015 age the age of 83.\r\n \r\nHe was a man of faith who loved to study and teach the word. He was a deacon and member of the Lighthouse Fellowship in Harper, TX. He also served on the board of International Bible College in San Antonio, TX. Dan was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving as a Staff Sergeant in the Army. He was a tile contractor, owner and partner of C & D Tile and Mooney Tile Company. He enjoyed get-togethers with his family and friends and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. The love of his life was Peggy, his beloved wife to whom he was married for 63 years. The legacy of his faith in God has been passed down to his five children; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.\r\n \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, Flo and Daniel, Sr.; his sister, Dorothy Pollard; and his brothers, Clarence and Stanley Mooney.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his wife, Peggy Mooney; daughters, Cheryl Thiltgen (Mike) and Darlene Hastings (Robert); sons, Danny Mooney, Wayde Mooney (Karen) and David Mooney (Suzanne); brother, Charlie Mooney; sisters, Irene Cairn and Mary Rankin; as well as his fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held Friday, January 30, 2015, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nServices will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015, 2 PM at First Assembly of God in Kerrville officiated by James Engleman.
