Dale Irby was born on November 22, 1944 to E.M and Ozell Irby. He was the first born and only son. Dale went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 12, 2015. His daddy, E.M Irby and loving step father, Jess Maynard met him in heaven. He is survived by his mother, Ozell Maynard. \r\n\r\nHe met and fell in love with his sweetheart Barbara in Colorado on their senior trip. They just celebrated 50 years of marriage in October 2014. He is survived by his wife, Barbara and their four daughters, Saundra Briley and her husband Russell, Donetta Irby-Ray, Michelle Irby and Milissa Garcia. His pride and joy were his grandchildren. He was an amazing Pop who loved his grandchildren fiercely. To a few of them, he was the only father figure they knew. Grandchildren are Megan Ray and her fiancé, Josh Torres, David Ryan Ray, Conner and Caleigh Briley, and Jake Irby. His grandchildren will always cherish their memories of roasting marshmallows in the chiminea, golf cart rides and fishing. He is also survived by an honorary daughter, Dede Davila and her son, Waylon Castor.\r\n\r\nHe is also survived by his 3 loving sisters, Brenda Ashcraft and her husband Tommy, Peggy Dieu and her husband Don, and Nyla Wessner and her husband Garry. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Dale. He is also survived by several brother and sister in loves. \r\n\r\nDale enjoyed a long career with American National Insurance Company. He was named the number one District Manager in the nation the last two years with the company. During his career Dale and Barbara were able to travel the world together. \r\n\r\nDale loved the Lord's church and spent many years working and worshipping with the Kerrville Church of Christ. He served first as a deacon and later as a shepherd of the church. Many fondly remember "Mr. Dale" and his years on the JOY bus. Dale never met a stranger and had many special friends through his job, church family and community. \r\n\r\nThe family would like to thank Dr. Michael Grocki and Dr. William Ryan for their amazing care and compassion for Dale. The staff at Plaza on the River walked every step with us and were amazing. We are grateful for their care. We are forever thankful for Peterson Hospice and their care during Dale's final days.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015, 10 AM-12 Noon at Kerrville Church of Christ.
