Craig McDonald, age 59, of Bandera, passed away on April 3, 2019, in a hospital in Boerne, Texas. Craig was born in Brady, Texas to Charles Wade McDonald and Billie Willborn McDonald on August 30, 1959. \r\n\r\nCraig grew up in Eden, Texas where he loved hunting, fishing, rounding up rattlesnakes, and playing football with his childhood friends and cousins. He loved to have fun, yet had a very gentle spirit. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and was always learning something new. Craig enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends and often made a batch of salsa that he shared with his fellow devotees. \r\n\r\nCraig graduated from Eden High School and attended Texas Tech and Angelo State Universities where he was a proud member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He made many happy memories with his "brothers" and "sisters" there. Starting as a young boy, he learned the construction trade from his father and grandfather and worked with them both in McDonald Construction Co. for many years. In 1999, a project brought him to Bandera, Texas. He fell in love with the area and based himself there, while working as a construction superintendent.\r\n\r\nCraig is preceded in death by his father Charles Wade McDonald.\r\n\r\nCraig is survived by the light of his life, his daughter, Lauren McDonald, of Berthoud, Colorado, his mother, Billie McDonald, and a sister, Cristi McDonald, both of Bandera. He had many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished friends.\r\n\r\nThere is a visitation scheduled for Monday, April 8, 2019, from 12:00pm - 2:00pm at Grimes Funeral Chapel of Bandera. A celebration of life service will follow at 2:30pm, at Bandera City Park.\r\n\r\nThe family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Bandera EMS for their extraordinary efforts and compassion.
