Clifford L. Prater passed away unexpectedly at Camp Bandina on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. He was 80 years of age.\r\n\r\nClifford was born September 25, 1938 in Houston, Texas to Dicey Lorene Sparks Prater and Clifford Castle Prater. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy and served God faithfully as a member of the Church of Christ. He served as a Deacon and Elder in Port Lavaca and Medina. He was also a house Parent at the Medina Children's Home from 1969 - 1980. The Praters have been residents of Bandera since 2000.\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mary Joyce Breed. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Marilyn; daughters Cynthia Prater and Deana Paschke; son Christopher Prater; grandchildren Logan Paschke, Tyler Paschke, Christian Paschke and Luke Morish Prater; cousin Billy Ray Sparks; numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family members and treasured friends.\r\n\r\nA memorial service will be held Sunday, June 23, 2019 at the Bandera Church of Christ at 2:00 PM with Gene Van Nord and Keith Schmidt officiating.\r\n\r\nThose who desire may make memorial gifts to Bandina Christian Youth Camp.
