Clarence Wesley Donald, Jr., MD, age 84, died at home on Monday, August 27, 2018. He was born March 5, 1934, in Pine Log, Georgia, to Clarence and Frances Donald.\r\n \r\nHe was a graduate of the University of Georgia and served in the Navy at the Naval Medical Research Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta in 1963, then completed a pediatric residency at Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta. He practiced pediatrics in the Atlanta area for seven years before relocating to Kerrville in 1973 where he practiced an additional thirty years.\r\n \r\nClarence loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served as deacon and enjoyed many years as a choir member. He was deeply devoted to his family, friends and patients, including a number of "grand-patients" - children of former patients.\r\n \r\nClarence was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Glenn Donald of Birmingham, Alabama.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Jeannie Donald; daughters, Beth Young of Kerrville and Susan Webb of San Antonio; grandsons, Mason Webb and Grayson Young. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Emily Morgan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fred and Joyce Morgan of Watkinsville, Georgia; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Donald of Birmingham.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be from 5-7 PM, Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. \r\n \r\nA memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, August 31, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church.\r\n \r\nThe family wishes to express sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. James Young and Pat for superior, dedicated care over the years. We are also grateful for the excellent and compassionate care provided by Peterson Hospice. Hospice provides an important service to our community which we support wholeheartedly and hope you support as well.\r\n
