Christian Barziza

May 12, 1966 — April 19, 2019

Christian William Barziza, age 52, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019. He was born in Houston, Texas on May 12, 1966 to Billy C. Barziza and Shirley Faye (Martin) Barziza. Chris moved to Kerrville, Texas in 2009 with his loving Mother and Step Father, Larry and Shirley Lewis, where he enjoyed the balance of his years.\r\n\r\nChris had many hobbies but a few really stood out to those who knew him well. He spent a great deal of time writing and expressing his thoughts through his art, coloring, and special handwritten notes. Country music was another great love - at one point his cassette and CD collection would rival any collector and while naming a favorite artist would be impossible - it was clear that the music and songs he played most were those that resonated his core beliefs of God, family and country. Chris' deepest passion was a combination of photography and genealogy. He was the master of the Polaroid camera (and the master of convincing his Mother that he always needed more film). Every picture told a story because Chris took time to meticulously label each one with a handwritten note memorializing what it meant to him at the time. Little did we know it at the time but those pictures and the many albums they now fill serve as a beautiful roadmap to Chris' life and the many lives he touched all along the way.\r\n\r\nThese passions, hobbies and interests pale in comparison to Chris' biggest love which was for his ever-caring Mother, Shirley Faye Lewis. Chris has gone on to meet his Mother and other loved ones to include his grandparents (CW and Frances Barziza / Joe and Edith Martin) and his younger cousin Paul Barziza.\r\n\r\nChris is survived by his loving family who will forever be thankful for the lessons he taught us: Father Billy Barziza, Step-Father Larry Lewis, and his brothers and their families: Tim and Jennifer Barziza along with daughters Bailey, Ashton Beaux and Bella; Daniel and Carla Barziza along with their children Mason, Bricyn, Hayden and Reegan; and Anthony Barziza.\r\n\r\nA visitation service will be held Thursday, April 25th from 5-7pm at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, Texas. A memorial service and graveside will be held Saturday, April 27th at 12 noon at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston, Texas.\r\n\r\n
