Chester Paul Fehlis Sr. of Bryan, formerly of Kerrville and Beeville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 29, 2014. He was 88. He was born in Beeville Texas on October 25, 1926 to Paul Fehlis and Emilie Wischkaemper Fehlis.\r\n\r\nHe married Dora Angermiller on October 25, 1944 and they celebrated their 70th anniversary in October. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines and Japan in 1945-46.\r\n\r\nHe was employed by Union Producing Company in Beeville in 1947. In 1950 went to work for Pan American Petroleum Co., later known as Standlin Oil Co., Amoco Production Co. and British Petroleum. He retired in 1984.\r\n\r\nChester was a member of the Beeville Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years. He and Dora bought a home in Kerrville in 1993 and In June 2014 they moved to Bryan to be closer to family.\r\n\r\nHe was a loving and adored husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He treasured family and was an exceptionally selfless man.\r\n\r\nIn addition to his wife, Dora, he is survived by a son Chester Fehlis, Jr and his wife Jan of College Station, a daughter Shirley Pullin and her husband Steve of Victoria, six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.\r\n\r\nA visitation for friends and family will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 12:00 noon till 1:30 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville.
