Cheryl Darlene Scott Burton, 69, of Kerrville, passed away on September 19, 2015 in Kerrville. She was born in Corpus Christi, TX to Robert Lee Scott, Sr. and Inez Thornton Scott on November 12, 1945. She married Robbie Burton on July 27, 1974 in Corpus Christi, TX.\r\n \r\nShe went to school at Corpus Christi. She graduated from W.B. Ray High School. She worked as a secretary and an office manager for several companies over a number of years. \r\n \r\nCheryl had a deep love of nature and animals. She spent many hours outdoors taking care of her gardens, feeding deer and birds. She would go to great lengths to save any stray animal she saw that needed medical help and help to find it a new home. She loved hunting, fishing, scuba diving and searching for arrow heads. She also had a deep love for friends and family. Her capacity for loving, supporting and caring for her friends and family was unlimited. Cheryl will be loved and missed by all who have known her.\r\n \r\nCheryl is preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Scott, Sr., mother, Inez Thornton Scott and her brother Robert Lee Scott, Jr.\r\n \r\nCheryl is survived by husband, Robbie Burton, step-son, Rob Burton, sisters, Rhonda Scott and Christy Scott Suggs and her granddaughter Lexie Burton.\r\n \r\nMemorial services will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Grimes Funeral Chapels with the Pastor Malcom Bolger of Kerrville Church of the Nazarene, officiating.\r\n \r\nMemorials may be given to Peterson Hospice, 1121 Broadway, Kerrville, TX 78028. The family of Cheryl Burton wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Peterson Hospice.
