Charlotte Joy Rodriguez was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 16, 1927. She grew up in Lytle, Texas. She became a nurse in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps in response to a call for nurses during World War II. She trained at Baptist Memorial Hospital in San Antonio and then moved to Kerrville, Texas. \r\n\r\nCharlotte worked at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital, at the VA as a visiting nurse and at Hilltop Village. She was a nurse for 56 years and a blessing to all of her patients. \r\n\r\nShe was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church, and her singing will be missed during services.\r\n\r\nCharlotte is survived by Dr. Dighton and Ann Packard (daughter and spouse), Morgan and Dr. Michael Griffith (granddaughter and spouse), and Matt and Mary Rodriguez (brother- and sister-in-law).\r\n\r\nDonations can be made in her honor to Calvary Baptist Church, where services will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2016.\r\n
