Charlie Blankenship passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 in Kerrville, Texas with family and wife by his side. He was born in Mart, Texas on October 11, 1919.\r\n\r\nCharlie is survived by his wife of 64 years, Viola Thieleman Blankenship; son, Ron Blankenship, and his wife Susan; son, Richard Blankenship, and his wife Laurie, grandsons David, Weston and his wife Cristy, and great grandsons, Asher and Luke.\r\n\r\nCharlie proudly served his country as a platoon sergeant in the USMC during WWII. He returned to begin his business career in 1953 and retired in 2007. His employees and business associates respected Charlie for his fairness, honesty and his ability to develop personal relationships. He was an active servant to his Lord in his work at Faith American Lutheran Church. Charlie will be missed for his stories of his life he so humorously told and will be fondly remembered by his family and friends in his later years for his love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.\r\n\r\nCharlie's interment will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Memorial Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas on October 14, 2014, 11:30 A.M., with a Marine Honor Guard.\r\n\r\nThe family wishes to thank the staff of The Plaza and Betty Flood for their loving kindness and care of Charlie.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
