He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Don Alan Riley, brother, John Riley, sister, Lyla Cornwall and two infant siblings. \r\n\r\nHe is survived by wife, Nancy Riley; one son, Randall Riley; two daughters, Kim Whitbeck (Bill), Jill Ralph (David) and daughter-in-law, Dolores Riley; grandchildren, Kristen (Blake) Jansen, Bobbie (Sam) Sanchez, Clint Riley, David Whitbeck, Kathryn Whitbeck, Andrew (Alex) Ralph, Emily (Justin) Loftin, Eric (Jenna) Ralph and eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Crysta Pearl Moore, Annie Stafford and brothers, Morgan (Barbara) Riley, and Robert/Bob (Dana) Riley.\r\n\r\nCharley was also blessed by an extended family of two daughters, Su Zane Blackwelder and Nancy Jane Rountree; two sons, Tate (Kay) Randle and Ricky (Amy) Randle; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.\r\n\r\nCharley married Jo Ann Mangum on December, 22, 1950 in Poteet, TX while coaching at Poteet High School. They had four children. He married Nancy Randle in Ft. Worth, TX, May 28, 2009.\r\n \r\nFollowing graduation from Lytle High School in 1945, he joined the Navy during World War II. Upon discharge, he attended SWTSU/Texas State University where he received his Bachelor of Business Admistration Degree, followed by his Master's Degree in Education. While attending college, he ran track and was team captain his senior year. He was also a member of Alpha Si/Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Later, he became the Director of Housing for his alma mater before moving onto other roles in education. \r\n\r\nCharley retired in August 31, 2009, with a 60 year career in education. His career began at Poteet High School as a coach and teacher. He also coached in Bloomington and for Gary Job Corps in San Marcos, TX. He completed his career in education having served 36 years at Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, TX. As an instructor he was also on the TCC District Speaker Bureau for 22 years. He received the Chancellor's Award for Exemplary Teaching in 2004 for the Northwest Campus of TCC. \r\n\r\nCharley was a Life Long Learner and everyone he met usually received an English lesson, unbeknownst to them as they visited with him. He loved going to Hastings and stay hours reading and looking for CD'S that he didn't have (also to "talk"). His visits to Wal-Mart were supposed to be pushing the carts around the store for exercise-it would take him awhile since he would stop several times to visit with someone needing to talk. He had a great intuition for seeking out those that might need a kind word or two. Friends say he was well-respected, always down-to-earth and admired and loved by all. Charley was born during the Depression and knew what it was like to have very little, so he was always looking for bargains where he could buy in bulk. One day he came home with ten bottles of mouthwash; Big Bargain-On Sale! Charley also loved to travel to foreign countries and tour America. He loved attending reunions for all the various organizations and schools he was involved in which were 32* Scottish Rite Mason for 54 years, Kiwanis Club member, Exchange Club, Jaycees, Optimist Club member, Volunteer Fireman, SWTSU Alumni Director, Eagle Scout, Boy Scout and Cub Scout Leader, Junior Olympics/AAU Coach, and the American Legion. Charley was an avid runner and won the South Texas Walkathon of which he was most proud. \r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the following (if you so desire): Boy Scout Troop 369 of Lytle, Texas, P.O.
