Charles E. "Boots" Laue\r\n \r\n Charles E. "Boots" Laue, 101, of Lakehills, died Sunday, March 4, 2018 in Bandera.\r\n \r\n He was born September 20, 1916 In San Antonio to Eugene and Helen Florence Davis Laue. He married Helen G. Edgekoski on May 15, 1943 and they were married for 63 years until her death in 2006.\r\n \r\n Charles was a career Navy veteran, retiring in 1975 after 30 years of service. He participated in WWII, Viet Nam and Korea serving on various ships as a Chief Petty Officer in charge of the dental department and lab. His last duty station was at the U. S. Naval Dental Center in San Diego in charge of the laboratory. Charles was fire chief and assistant fire chief for the Medina Lake VFD, member of the American Legion Post 410, belongs to the Barstow Masonic Lodge #682 and a member of the Fleet Reserve Association.\r\n \r\n Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; bother, Gene R. Laue; sisters, Maida Wehmeyer and Helen Evans.\r\n \r\n Charles is survived by his nieces, Carol Jean Quick (M. L.) of Victoria, TX; Sandra Laue Mauer (David) of Lakehills, TX and nephews, Robert Wehmeyer of Bandera; Eugene E. "Bubba" Laue (Terry), San Angelo, TX. He leaves behind numerous great-nieces and nephews along with great-greats.\r\n \r\n A memorial service will be held at 1:00 Saturday, March 10 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapel, 1214 Mulberry St., Bandera, TX.\r\n \r\n In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Charles' name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Lakehills Library, 7200 FM 1283, Lakehills, TX 78063.\r\n
