Charles "Goatie" Coldwell, age 72 of Center Point, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in a Kerrville hospital. He was born February 5, 1942 in Center Point to Neal Vernon Coldwell and Bessie (Star) Coldwell. On October 27, 1962, he married Yvonne "Vickie" Otwell. She preceded him in death on October 14, 2011.\r\n \r\nGoatie loved his family and wanted them to be together whenever possible. He would hold barbeques Friday and Saturday nights. He loved napping in the sun and driving around his pasture.\r\n \r\nHe served on the Center Point School Board for 21 years, coached Little League softball and umpired both Little League baseball and softball. He retired from the Texas Highway Department as a maintenance supervisor after 35 years.\r\n \r\nSurvivors include daughters, Cindi Tinnin and husband, Kevin Gallie, Shirley Coldwell Wingfield, son, Robert Coldwell and wife, Dolly, and sister, Lula Mae Coldwell, all of Center Point; grandchildren, Eric Sweat, Craig Sweat, Brandon Cunningham, Cassy Coldwell Robinett and Justin Tinnin; great grandchildren, Ethan Sweat and Emily Sweat.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held Friday, October 17, 2014, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nGraveside services will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014, 10 AM at Center Point Cemetery.\r\n \r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]\r\n
