Carolyn Renee McDougall affectionately known as Renee passed away on December 30th, 2023. She was born on June 20th, 1975, to William Woodrow Jr. and Jean Ellen Bodine. On May 24th, 2008, she married the love of her life Matt McDougall at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in San Antonio, Texas and on October 26th, 2009, they would welcome their daughter Lauren Rosemary McDougall.
Renee's life was marked by a deep passion for knowledge and an unyielding determination to succeed. She began her educational journey at Kostoryz Elementary School in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she laid the foundation for a brilliant future. Graduating in 1994 from Mary Carroll High School, Renee distinguished herself by ranking in the top 10% of her class. Also while in high school Renee was a feature twirler where she later in life danced with Karavan Studios.
Continuing her pursuit of knowledge, Renee received a scholarship to attend Texas A&M University Corpus Christi from 1995 to 1996. In 2002, she proudly graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
Throughout her professional career, Renee worked for Noah Technologies, Frost & Sullivan, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and to Matt's BBQ Pits, LLC. She also served as a substitute teacher for the Northside Independent School District in San Antonio.
In addition to her achievements, Renee became a member of Western Heritage Cowboy Church in Pipe Creek, TX. from 2016 until December 2023, she actively participated in various Bible study groups and was dedicated to the Sheep Dog ministry.
Renee is survived by her parents: William Woodrow Bodine Jr. and Jean Ellen Bodine, her sister Sheree Elaine Bodine Naugle, her brother Brian Keith Bodine, her husband Matthew Ryan McDougall, and her daughter Lauren Rosemary McDougall.
Renee will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, kindness towards others, and love for learning. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service will be held at Western Heritage Cowboy Church in Pipe Creek, Texas, on January 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel.
