Carol Macnutt

Carol Jean, aged 80, died peacefully in her sleep at home on July 25th 2022 after a long health battle. She was born on October 28th 1941 in Durango, CO to Hugh & Devona Chastain who have preceded her in death. She is survived by her beloved husband and love of her life, Arthur MacNutt, brother Clifton Chastain (Laura Lee), children Brad Buswell (Trish), Brenna Winegarden (Greg), Jeff MacNutt (Dawn), Tommy Ross (Maggie), Todd Ross (Jennifer), Arthur (Trey) MacNutt III (Krista), Jennifer (JJ) Tehuitzil (Juan) & many grand & great-grand children. She graduated from Durango HS in 1959 & Ft Collins College with a BA in 1965. She followed in her father's footsteps & chose a career in Commercial Electical sales, paving the way for other women in the field. She retired with her sweetheart to their own slice of Heaven in Lakehills, Texas in 2008. She had a sharp intellect & quick wit & enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. She was a great cook & was known for her chicken noodle soup & 'angel' eggs. She delighted in spending time at her family cabin on Electra Lake. Carol loved the holidays and passing down family traditions to future generations. She took great pride in her family's accomplishments & was fiercely protective. She loved life & traveling with her husband. Her passing has left a hole that will never be filled. She is now with her beloved pets, Bailey & Contessa on the Rainbow Bridge. She has asked to be celebrated in a private gathering by the people who loved her most.
