On January 23, 2019 Carlos Edwin Pfiester, 73 years old, of Kerrville, died peacefully at home. He was born in Fredericksburg, Texas on June 5, 1945 to Irene Kott Pfiester and Edwin Pfiester. He was married to JoAnn Pfiester of Kerrville.\r\n\r\nCarlos graduated from Tivy High School in 1963. He attended San Angelo State University immediately following High School, and shortly thereafter joined the United States Navy. He served as a seaman on the U.S.S. Intrepid during the Vietnam War. Following his service, Carlos returned to Kerrville, Texas. His primary occupation during these years was as an extremely successful owner/operator of two Exxon service stations here in the Hill Country. The skills he learned in the Navy served him well, and enhanced his natural strengths of organization, hard work, and the determination to do all things to the best of his ability. Carlos was a loving and devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather. He was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.\r\n\r\nCarlos was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Pfiester; his mother and step-father; Irene and Fred Pearson; and his eldest daughter, Tamara Pfiester Pate.\r\n\r\nThose left behind to mourn his loss include his wife, JoAnn Pfiester; his first wife, Patricia Pfiester (mother of his children); his son, Carl Pfiester (Carianne); daughters, Tiffany Pfiester Way (Michael) and Ashley Pfiester Causey (Ben); step-daughter, Laura Furman Singleton (Greg); brothers, Robert Pfiester (Charlotte Taylor), Jerry Pfiester (Darla); his sister, Sharon Bigott (Mark); his eight grandchildren, Carlye, Nathanael and Noah Pfiester, Victoria and Boston Way, and Cassie, Colton and Chloe Pate; his niece, nephews and other extended family.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be held at 5-7 PM, Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n\r\nServices will held at 10 AM, Friday, January 25, 2019 at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Pastor Ben Causey. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. \r\n\r\nPallbearers will be Nathanael Pfiester, Noah Pfiester, Marcus Bigott, Daniel Bigott, Samuel\r\nBigott, Bobby Pfiester, Stephen Pfiester and Michael Peters.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice, such as The Hill Country Youth Ranch - a personal favorite of Carlos'.\r\n\r\nA special thank you to Peterson Hospice, Heart Choices Care Management and Caring Senior Services. You brought joy and peace to all during his final weeks here with us. Your kind and loving attention to all of his needs, and those of the family, will not soon be forgotten.\r\n\r\n
