Bryan Wade Ivey, 52, of Kerrville went to be with his Lord Monday, June 20, 2016 in Kerrville, Texas. He was born in Lubbock, Texas on April 16, 1964 to Dellwayne and Novella Ivey. He married Melinda Ridgaway Persyn on May 1, 2010 in Kerrville, Texas.\r\n \r\nHe went to school in Lubbock, Texas. After graduating from Lubbock High, he joined the United States Marine Corps. He worked at Bacon Heights Baptist Church in Lubbock and First United Methodist Church in Kerrville. He loved serving his Lord and his country. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he attended a Sunday School class and a men's Bible study group for 10 years. He loved their wisdom, loving advice and prayers. He met the love of his life, Melinda, at church.\r\n \r\nBryan is survived by his wife, Melinda Ivey; two sons, Bryan Gage Ivey and Talon Wade Ivey of Lubbock; stepdaughter, Ashley Amanda Persyn of Taiwan; brother, Dellwayne Ivey Jr. and wife Julie; sister, Deborah Griffin and husband David; sister, Rebekah Ivey and Eric; parents, Dellwayne and Novella, all of Lubbock; several nieces and nephews and two great nieces.\r\n \r\nFuneral services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, June 25, 2016 at First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Ryan Barnett and Logan Talamas. Burial will be at a later date at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels between 5 and 7 PM.\r\n \r\nHonorary pallbearers will be the men's Bible study group. \r\n \r\nMemorials may be given to Disabled American Veterans or a charity of your choice.\r\n
