Bruce Birdwell

Bruce Loran Birdwell, age 59, died Feb. 25, 2016 in Leander, Texas. Bruce was the son of former Tivyite, Kathy Koehler McKay and Airman Clifford L. Birdwell, deceased. He was born at Lackland Air Force Base on Feb. 4, 1957. \r\n\r\nHe attended school in Austin, Texas and Renton, Washington. He served 10 years in the Army and was honorably discharged as Staff Sargent in Billings, Montana. He met and married Michaela Anna Roth while stationed in Germany. They had no children. \r\n\r\nBruce is the grandson of Earlan Koehler, formerly of Koehler Kottages, now Japonica Estates, and Gene Blount Barton, former assistant Kerrville City Clerk, both now deceased, but known and loved by many Kerrville and Hunt residents. \r\n\r\nSurviving relatives include mother, Kathy Koehler McKay; three sisters and one brother, Beverly C. McChesney, Stacey (Birdwell) Clark, Michael Birdwell and Donna Adams; uncles, Frank Koehler and Dale Blount and spouses; and cousins too numerous to mention.\r\n\r\nServices will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March, 19, 2016. Frank Koehler will be officiating and Randy Koehler will offer music written especially for Bruce.\r\n
