Bobby Ray "Bob" Bell, age 84, passed peacefully into the arms of his loving Heavenly Father at his home in Kerrville, Texas on Monday, November 17, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be Tuesday, November 18, 2014, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, 10:00 am at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, Texas and burial will follow on Thursday, November 20, 2014, 10:00 am at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas. Officiates will be Chris Christopherson of Trinity Baptist Church in Kerrville and Bob's brother, Jerry Bell of Canyon, Texas.\r\n \r\nBob was born in Throckmorton County, Texas to Jett Wortham Bell and Johnnie Tucker Bell. He grew up on the family farm and attended Throckmorton Schools.\r\n \r\nIn 1950, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy and went through basic training at the U.S. Navy Training Center in San Diego, California. After completion of basic training, he was assigned to a ship repair unit in Kodiak, Alaska.\r\n \r\nWhile home on leave during the month of August 1951, Bob became engaged to Wanda Enloe and they were married in August 1952. To that union were born two sons, Randall Ray Bell and Roger Wayne Bell. Wanda passed away in July 1973.\r\n \r\nIn November 1973, Bob met Elaine Hambrick Haire in Odessa, Texas and they were married on January 25, 1974 in Andrews, Texas. With that marriage, Bob gained two adoring daughters, Gayla who was 8 years old and Leisa who was 7 years old.\r\n \r\nAfter completing his time in the military, Bob was employed by Dowell, Inc for four and half years, before joining Shell Oil Company from which he retired on February 1, 1990 after 31 years of service. After retirement, Bob and Elaine enjoyed traveling in their Airstream. Also, Bob taught and called Square Dances across the country for several years.\r\n \r\nHe was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Bell, his parents, three brothers and one sister.\r\n \r\nSurvivors include his wife, Elaine Bell, two sons, Randy Bell and wife JoAnn, Roger Bell and wife Karen, two daughters Gayla Sanders and husband James and Leisa Harden and husband Kevin, all of Odessa, Texas, and his little sidekick dog "Schatzie". Also, a brother Jerry Bell and wife Rose of Canyon, Texas, along with 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends who loved Bob dearly.\r\n \r\nThe family would also like to thank the nursing staff at Peterson Memorial Regional Hospital, Peterson Hospice nurses, Julie, Dawn, Melanie and the staff of Caring Senior Services, Joann, Emma, Elizabeth, Rose and Carolyn.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Peterson Hospice, Kerrville, Texas.\r\n\r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
