Billy Keith Shelley, 79 of Kerrville, passed away December 21, 2016 at University Hospital in San Antonio. He was born June 7, 1937 to Hilda Hyatt Shelley and Gordon Kermit Shelley. Billy served in the United States Army two different times. The first time 10/8/1958-9/23/60. The second time was 10/26/1961-8/7/62. Billy was honorably discharged on September 30, 1964.\r\n \r\nAt the age of 21, Billy was the youngest of 7 cowboys who worked the liquidation sale of livestock of the West-Pyle Cattle Company in 1958, covering 631,000 acres. The sale brought in, at that time, a historic $3M. He went on to work 34 years and retired January 1, 1992 from Knipling Bushland Livestock, Insects Laboratory.\r\n \r\nPreceded in death by his parents; son, Bryan Shelley; and his brother, George Shelley.\r\n \r\nSurvivors include his wife of 27 years, Ginger Shelley; two daughters, Melissa Shelley and Tracy Shelley Harris; five grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and his sister, JoAnn Pike.\r\n \r\nMemorial services to be held at a later date.\r\n \r\n\r\n
