Billie Lou Courtney, Born November 1, 1928 to Ina and Clyde Dawson in Bell County, Texas went to be with the Lord, her family and friends on February 27, 2016. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, husband W.J. "Bill" Courtney and daughter Patricia Courtney Christopher.\r\n\r\nShe was raised in Houston and went to Jeff Davis High School where she met and married her husband Bill. Together they built up a large Service Company starting in the Houston area and then expanding all along the Gulf Coast. They purchased a ranch in the Bandera area and enjoyed entertaining their many friends, family and clients there. She truly loved being surrounded by family and friends and through her hospitality and graciousness was a wonderful hostess. Billie also loved to travel and she and Bill were able to travel all over the world where they met many new friends. They had to be friends as she never met a stranger and lit up any room she entered. She had an infectious laugh, beautiful smile and a knack for making everyone welcome.\r\n\r\nBillie is survived by her daughter, Sherril Barker (Bill); son, Craig Courtney (Suzanne); sister, Ginger Garwood (Kelly) and her beloved companion Elmer Williams. Grandchildren, Matt Barker (Diana), Brett Barker (Shannon), Newton Hopkins (Monica), Caitlin Christopher Bonner (Blake), Chais Courtney and 5 great grandchildren.\r\n\r\nWe will all miss you here, but we know you're enjoying the reunion with your family and friends.\r\n\r\nLaissez Le Bon Temps Rouler!\r\n\r\nThere will be a private family Graveside service on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Episcopal Cemetery. \r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Boys and Girls Club of Bandera, P.O.
