Betty Weichert

Betty Ruth Weichert passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on October 19, 1928 in Fort Worth to Mary Bernice Gaston and Charles Theodore Rothlis. She worked at Pittsburg Plate Glass and as an Executive Secretary at Celanese Corporation in Corpus Christi. She was also the owner of Floral Boutique in Ingleside, and co-owner of Maurice Insulation and Supply. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. \r\n\r\nTo her family and friends, she will be remembered as a courteous and gracious host. A visit to her home would often include a warm bowl of her corn chowder and fresh chocolate chip cookies. She never turned a guest away and was happiest with a full home. She traveled the world with her family, visiting Europe, Mexico, and exploring her beloved Texas. She served in her church by playing the organ for congregations throughout South Texas and the Hill Country. \r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Bernice and Charles Theodore; her husband, Raymond Maurice Weichert; and her sisters, Dorothy Charlene Smelley (William) and Bernice Faye Aderholt (Virgil). \r\n\r\nSurviving Betty are her children, Charles Raymond Weichert (Josephine) and Mary Lynn Rothlis; her sisters, Joy Evelyn Manuel and Judy Thelma Caraway (OJ); and her grandsons, William Arthur Price (Victoria) and Michael Thomas Phillips (Meghan); her step-grandchildren, Harriet Zivley (Perry), Amber Bretches (Clay), and Charles Triplett (Susan); and step-great-grandchildren, Walter Perry III, Sam and Nicole Zivley, Lamar Bretches Taylor (Brooks), Porter and Bennet Bretches, Annika and Rafael Triplett.\r\n\r\nAt her request, there will be no public services. She will be interred with her late husband Maurice at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Kerrville at http://fpckerrville.org/give.\r\n
