Betty Tunstall

Betty Jane Mestayer Tunstall, 82, with family around her bedside, passed away one minute after midnight Sunday June 2, 2019, quietly at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee.\r\n\r\nBorn on October 18, 1936 in New Iberia, Louisiana, she was one of five children of Felix Charles Mestayer and Maude Delaney Mestayer \r\n\r\nMrs. Tunstall graduated from New Iberia High School and attended University of Houston where she met Karl Nelson Tunstall and the two were married on November 11, 1955.\r\n\r\nBetty is preceded in death by both parents and husband. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by her sons, Dr. Thomas N. Tunstall of Plano, Texas, his wife Renee, and their four children and two grandchildren; Charles R. Tunstall of La Jara, Colorado, his two children and four grandchildren; Karl M. Tunstall, his wife Cynthia, their children and a grandchild; their daughter, Katherine D. Moore, her spouse David, and their two children, five grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.\r\n\r\nThe family is requesting gifts or donations instead of flowers to be sent to Kerrville Perpetual Care Cemetery Association, PO Box 290241, Kerrville, TX 78029-0241 or Saint Vincent de Paul Society 1145 Broadway, Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library, 505 Water St. (both Kerrville) or Saint Peter Upon the Water, 234 Indian Creek Rd, Ingram, TX 78025.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Rosary will be at 6:00 pm, Thursday June 6, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n\r\nMass will be at 11:00 am, Friday, June 7, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville with a burial site gathering at the Glen Rest Cemetery. Reception immediately following burial at Notre Dame Catholic Church. \r\n\r\nPallbearers are Steven Stegemeier, Stephen Peyton, Fabian Perez, John (Jack) Tunstall, Lane Greger, and Devin Calhoun.\r\n\r\nHonorary Pallbearers are Matthew Tunstall and Travis Tunstall.
