Betty Rae Pflum passed away on December 3, 2019. She was born in Urbana, Illinois on August 9, 1934. She was the daughter of Fred and Mary Elbs and was raised in Villa Grove, Illinois. \r\n\r\nAfter high school graduation, she became a registered nurse and married Charles E. Pflum who passed on July 18, 2009. They had two sons, Michael and Stephen; daughters-in-law, Janice and Susie Pflum, respectively; and grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Luke and Marisa. \r\n\r\nWhile Charles completed his post secondary education, she worked as a nurse in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. After moving to Tallahassee for graduate studies, Charles was hired by Humble Oil, what later became Exxon. They started out in Metairie, Louisiana and then went on to Houston, Texas. She continued her nursing career and after retirement they settled in Kerrville, Texas. \r\n\r\nShe enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul and supporting Our Lady of the Hills as well as other worthy causes. \r\n\r\nGraveside services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Garden of Memories Cemetery officiated by Deacon Jimmy Bill. A reception will follow the service at Bella Sera Restaurant, 2124 Sidney Baker, next to the Sunday House hotel.
