Our dear friend, Betty passed from this life on the 3rd day of July 2017. She was born in Chicago, Illinois August 24, 1926, the only child of Leona and Carleton Bell. After many vacations to Texas during her childhood her family fell in love with the Hill Country. They first moved to Bandera for several years, and later relocated to Kerrville. She always liked to say that listening to the music of Gene Autry brought her to Texas.\r\n \r\nShe had a great love of horses and dogs. Over the years she had a number of English Collies which were her favorites. Her current precious companion is Gracie an Australian Sheppard. She will miss Ms. Bell greatly.\r\n \r\nBetty was a very giving person who supported various organizations in the area. She was a strong supporter of Notre Dame Catholic Church, the Kerrville Indians Baseball teams, and several youth horse clubs. She started a Foundation to buy youth animals at area Livestock Shows under her ranch name of Tara B. Betty, also established a Foundation to give scholarships to Beef Exhibitors to help further their educations. She also made donations to surrounding Fire Departments.\r\n \r\nHer religion was very important to her and she was a long standing member of Notre Dame Catholic Church. When she became unable to travel to Mass she had visiting Deacons come to her home to administer communion.\r\n \r\nShe will be missed by many friends and the Home Health personnel who took such good care of her. We want to Thank them for all of their care. We also give a special thanks to Peterson Hospice staff that were so caring when the end was coming.\r\n \r\nThere will be a Rosary at 6 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. \r\n \r\nBurial will be at 9 AM, Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Garden of Memories Cemetery.\r\n
