Bess Marie Ferlet, age 92 of Lakehills, passed away June 29, 2016. She was born in San Antonio, Texas to Charles Walter Wofford, Jr. and Bess Mc Ilhany on August 12, 1923. \r\n \r\nShe is preceded in death by her parents and older brother, Charles Walter Wofford, III, husband, Liberty McKinney Ferlet, Jr. and husband and father of her daughter, August Leonard Moore.\r\n \r\nBess is survived by daughter, Lynn M. Oliver-Laurinavicius and husband, Rommey; brother, Joseph Washington Wofford and wife, Barbara; sisters-in-law Lissette Carpenter, Emma Ferlet and brother-in-law, Lorraine Ferlet and wife, Siglinde; nieces, Terry Sue Vick and husband, Randy, Barbara Joe Cox and husband, Bill; nephew, Joseph Patrick Wofford and wife, Suzanne; numerous grand-nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.\r\n \r\nBess graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, May 24, 1941. Her work career as a bookkeeper included founding Ferlet Vending Service Company, and working for Bill Pease & Sons and Shaenfield Materials.\r\n \r\nA former selected member of the San Antonio Art League among other art associations, she enjoyed china painting and traveling to art shows. For many years, Bess was active in the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the American Legion Auxilary.\r\n\r\nA visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Grimes Chapel of Bandera.\r\n\r\nFuneral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, July 8, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera, with Rev. Celia Halfacre officiating. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at San Fernando III Cemetery in San Antonio. \r\n\r\n
