Bennie Hyde

Bennie M. Hyde, age 80 of Kerrville, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 at his residence. He was born April 9, 1935 in Kerrville, TX to Benjamin J. Hyde and Viola Fliutt Hyde. On November 21, 1964, he married Mallie A. Hunt in Tampa, FL.\r\n \r\nBennie was born and raised in Kerrville and was a 1953 graduate of Tivy High School. He was retired from the United States Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant. Of the 23 years he spent in the military, he was overseas for 17 of those years. When he retired he went back to school and received his Associates degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked at the Y12 Atomic Research Center for 15 years.\r\n \r\nBennie was baptized at First Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian. He was a member of the Hill Country Veterans Council, Knight Templar Council and Commandery and a Master Mason.\r\n \r\nSurvivors include wife, Mallie Hyde of Kerrville; children, Eva M. Hyde of Kerrville, Jason B. Hyde and wife, Dana of Peyton, CO and Donna Hyde of Kerrville; step-sister, Joan Taylor of Paris, CA; brother, John R. Hyde and wife, Gina of Pflugerville and granddaughter, Danielle M. Hyde.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held Thursday, May 7, 2015, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nServices will be held Friday, May 8, 2015, 10 AM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
