Lt. Col. Bennie Castillo of Kerrville, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at his home in Kerrville. He was born in Pleasanton, TX to Santiago and Octaviana Castillo on February 13, 1923. He was married to Marjorie Castillo in Bainbridge, GA in 1972.\r\n \r\nHe went to school at Sidney Lanier High School in San Antonio, TX. He served in the Air Force and was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded the Silver Distinguished Flying Cross, Vietnam Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Air Medal and numerous others. \r\n \r\nBennie was preceded in death by spouse, Callie J. Castillo and son, Bennie Castillo Jr.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by wife, Marjorie Castillo; son, Robert Castillo; daughter, Carol Powers; sister, Tavita Ortiz; grandsons, Jeffrey Vincent and SSG Jeremy Vincent; granddaughters, Corina Mills and Christina Gadillo; and 6 great grandchildren.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held 5-7 PM, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Kerrville, TX.\r\n \r\nGraveside services will be held 11 AM, Friday, October 2, 2015 at Ft.
