Basilio (Nicholas) Losoya, 81 of Bandera, Texas passed away on March 13, 2023, from congestive heart failure. Nick was born September 10, 1941, to George and Nicolasa Losoya. Nick was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 52 years, Rachel Losoya (Martinez), siblings John, Joe, Sonny, Ben, and Susie. He is survived by his siblings Maria and Mary Helen, his children: Basilio (Rachel) Losoya, Slyvia (Joe) Baca, Naomi (Sam) Wadle, Lulu Losoya and Joe Losoya. His grandchildren Ashley (Nick) Sabye, Anjelica Goldbach, Louise (Petelo) Duffy, Cassandra (Manuel) Salazar, Rosalie Losoya, Candace Losoya, Bubba Losoya, Jordyn (Ryan) Wadle-Leff, Alex Wadle and Gabby Losoya, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
A Texan native, Nick was born and raised in San Antonio where family history goes as far back as the Alamo. In 1960, Nick joined the military in food service and as a cook's apprentice.
Nick took his family on adventures in Dallas, San Antonio, and Atascosa where they had a farm. The family migrated to Colorado in 1981. Being a man of faith Nick became a pastor and helped establish the Lord Jesus Church of God church. He enjoyed painting, fishing and huevos rancheros.
Nick will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandpa, and friend to all who met him. His deep wisdom, stories about life, humor and smile will be missed.
Service will be held Wednesday, March 29 at Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel in Bandera, TX at 5:00pm. Burial service will be Thursday, March 30 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:45pm.
