Barbara went to be with the LORD on Saturday, June 17, 2017.\r\n \r\nBarbara was the only child of Bernard and Lucy (Brandon) Kuhlmann. She was always a very active and caring person throughout her life. During her growing up years she studied ballet, voice, art, and piano.\r\n \r\nShe attended Notre Dame for the first eight years of schooling before entering Tivy. While being an honor student she found time to participate in the Antlerettes, (1st Lt 55), three years on tennis team, (state one year), F.T.A., sang with the chorus and Sextette groups.\r\n \r\nBarbara spent a lot of time at the Cascade swimming pool. Here she perfected her skills at precision, formation swimming. The team, sponsored by Dodo Schreiner Parker, gave performances at local area pools, as well as the Lone Star and Pearl Breweries.\r\n \r\nAfter high school Barbara, Mary Ann Stovall Auld, and Mike Hopping attended college at the Texas Woman's University in Denton. After one semester at TWU she convinced her parents to allow her to transfer to the University of Texas in Austin, where she majored in Art. During her semester at Austin she married Alfred Wilson. Throughout her 61 years of married life she always found ways to expand her love for various types of art. The family moved to Michigan in 1965 where she entered some of her paintings in art shows competing with Ford Motor stylist in art shows and winning several awards. She financed the family summer vacations with earnings from the sale of her art work at local art shows.\r\n \r\nThe family returned to Texas and she and her husband purchased a motorcycle, ATV, and jet ski dealership. While they owned the dealership she traveled to Bermuda, Barbados, Bahamas, Hawaii, Japan, and many places in the United States and Mexico.\r\n \r\nThe family sold the dealership in 2004 and Barbara returned to Kerrville. In 2007 her new home was completed on the ranch in Hunt where she resided until her passing. During these last few years she worked with the Sheep & Goat Auxiliary helping raise money for scholarships for area students entering college. She demonstrated her skills with the use of a spinning wheel for the Texas Farms Bureau and at the LBJ park in Johnson City. She often used yarn that she had dyed and made into strands.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by her husband, Alfred Wilson; daughter, Roxanne and husband Mike Roe; daughter, Sheri and husband Roy Prejean; daughter, Dr. Carolyn Quist; and son, Charles and daughter-in-law Joni Wilson. Additionally, she has seven grandkids, four great grandkids and many, many, true friends.\r\n \r\nMemorial services are planned for 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. A reception will follow at First Presbyterian Church in Ryan Hall. \r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or a charity of one's choice. \r\n
