Barbara Vlasek

Barbara Vlasek, avid Dallas Cowboys fan, age 73, of Hunt, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Eunice and Richard Carlson on March 10, 1943. She married William E. Vlasek in 1974. \r\n\r\nShe went to school at Richfield High. She attended two years at University of Minnesota and then went to flight attendant school, and became an attendant for Braniff Airlines for 17 years. \r\n\r\nShe served on the School Board of Hunt Independent School District for many years and received many accolades for her extensive service in building the Community. \r\n\r\nWorking side by side with her husband as co-owner, she helped to build Vlasek Pump Co., while raising their children. \r\n\r\nBarbara will now be joining her beloved sons, Samson and Christopher, daughter, Pamela, and parents, Eunice and Richard, who all preceded her in entering the Kingdom of God. \r\n\r\nBarbara is survived by her husband, William E. Vlasek, her children, Dennis and Cy Vlasek, Willy and Gloria Vlasek, Shaleah and Doug Hill, Jill and Manning Reed, Sasha Vlasek, and Greg and Marie Vlasek, her sisters, Colleen Zimmerman, and Lynn Carlson, her grandchildren, Joshua, Samantha, Nicole, Doug, Sydney, Catrina, Ella, Abigail, Danielle, Shaleen, Rance, O'Tika , Hanna, Abbie, Bella, Faustine, Cyprien, Pierre-Maxence, and Gavin, and her great-grandchildren, Emma, Hunter, Tyler, Raileigh, Rex, Conner, Alex, Owen, Dagon, Paisley and Basil, and acted as an additional grandmother and aunt to many others. \r\n\r\nRosary Service will be held at 6PM Monday, January 9, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville with Deacon Charles Domingues.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father David Wagner, officiating. Burial will follow at Hunt Japonica Cemetery. \r\n\r\nPallbearers will be Gavin, Dougie, Rance, Josh, Hunter, and Chris. \r\n\r\nMemorials may be made in her name to Camp Honey Creek at P.O. Box 140, Hunt, TX 78024. The family of Barbara wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Rebecca E. Barrington and Dr. Richard Johnson along with his nurse, Martha, and their entire staff, who helped Barbara in her decades battle against cancer, and the hospice nurses who helped her in her final days, and all the staff at Notre Dame for their spiritual guidance throughout the years. \r\n
