Barbara (Bobby) Ann Richeda, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 in Comfort, Texas.\r\n \r\nShe was born August 5, 1940 in Yakima, Washington to Elden and Esther Crookston, who, soon after Barbara's birth, moved back to the Salt Lake City area. She had two younger brothers: Keith, who with Jeannie, has two daughters, Kerrie and Kelli; and Eugene, who with Pat, has a daughter, Ann and a son, John.\r\n \r\nBarbara grew up in Murray, a rural area of Salt Lake City, where she attended Granite High School and then Westminister College and graduated as a Registered Nurse from the School of Nursing. She met Raymond (Ray) Richeda at Westminister and they married on September 9, 1962. Among her bridesmaids was Raymond's sister, Noreen Richeda Larinde of Pacific Palisades, California.\r\n \r\nBarbara worked in numerous hospitals and private clinics both in Utah and Texas, where they moved when Ray accepted employment in international sales. She was totally devoted to her profession, becoming Head Nurse in Pediatrics, and was always active in medical issues, continuing to keep her license active by attending many courses to update her medical knowledge, even after the birth of their two sons, Randy Ray Richeda, of Houston, and Richard Alan Richeda, of Lubbock, Texas. She has 4 grandchildren, the daughters of Richard and Cherish: Michaella, Caitlynn, Savannah and Astyn.\r\n \r\nHer hobby of cake decorating became a successful business with a TV show where she demonstrated this art form. When Ray retired from sales, and opened a Maaco Body and Repair Shop, Barbara worked with him as receptionist. When they sold the shop, they moved to Comfort, Texas, in the Hill Country, where they enjoyed a quiet rural existence.\r\n \r\nServices will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Kerrville. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 2:00 PM.\r\n \r\nGraveside services and interment will be held at 11 AM, Monday, March 19, 2018 at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lubbock, where Ray will reside.\r\n
