Barbara Gandy

Barbara Greene Gandy passed away November 29, 2017. She was born December 12, 1927, in Atlanta, Texas, to George Hope and Alline Singletary Greene. \r\n \r\nBarbara married Billy John "B.J." Kirby in 1947 in Dallas, Texas where they founded and successfully operated Kirby's Charcoal Steaks on Greenville Ave. for more than 25 years. Barbara later worked for Trammel Crow and Sun E&P in Dallas as an executive secretary.\r\n \r\nIn 1996, "Bobbie" married her beloved Judge Dean M. Gandy. They then moved from Dallas to Kerrville. An amazing and positive person, full of life, passion and generosity, Barbara loved spending time with her family, yard work, fishing, travel and her Dobermans, especially Colt. \r\n \r\nBarbara was preceded in death by her husband Judge Dean M. Gandy, mother Alline, brother Charles Hope Greene, daughter Kay Kirby, B.J. Kirby and father George Hope and Lorene Eggenberger Greene.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by her children: Tone and Karen Kirby Lester of Tyler; Don and Karla Kirby Corkran of Kerrville; Kimberly Kirby Cone of Kerrville; sister, Laura Greene Cummings and her husband TJ Cummings of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Sean Teaters of San Ramon, CA, Amy Mimms of Frisco, Ben and Melissa Teaters Stagg of Ft. Mill, SC, Morgan Lester of San Francisco, CA, Kirby and Meghan Youker Cone of McKinney, and Alline Cone of Gruene; great-grandchildren, Emily Mimms, Nate and Drew Givens, Greyson Cone and Alden Cone.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, please consider a donation made in Barbara Gandy's name to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 320 St. Peter Street, Kerrville, TX 78028.\r\n \r\nA Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Kerrville, Monday, December 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. with Rev. J. Michael (Mike) Wheeler and Rev. Bert Baetz officiating. Pallbearers will be Tone Lester, Don Corkran, Kirby Cone, Mark Weisbart, Richard Hefner and Ricky Valdez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sean Teaters and Morgan Lester. \r\n \r\nGraveside services will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas with Rev. Canon K. Michael Harmuth officiating.\r\n
