Arlen Glenn Thacker, Sr. 80, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Hunt, Texas to Myrtle and Hal Thacker on May 11, 1936. \r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Hal; his brother, Douglas; his wife, Marjorie; and his son, Arlen Glenn Thacker, Jr.\r\n\r\nArlen was married to Marjorie Smith on January 15, 1955 and they had four children. He is survived by three daughters, Carol King (Steve), Debbie Driensky (Dana) and Brenda Simons; eight grandchildren, Tamey Frost (Mike), Brian King (Kerri), Benjamin King (Allie), Daniel Driensky (Sarah), Chris Driensky (Arielle), Eric Driensky, Alex Driensky (Destiny), Jenifer Sorrels (Robbie); and seven great grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, Caleb and Noah Frost, Carson King and Samuel and Kylie Sorrels. He is also survived by his sister, Marlene Hawkins; brother, Hal D. Thacker (Patsy); and many nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nArlen enjoyed watching football, fishing and tinkering around the house working on projects.\r\n\r\nA memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Nichols Cemetery in Ingram, Texas.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.\r\n
