Ardeth Bergen

Mr. Ardeth "Ardie" Dean Bergen, age 81 of Kerrville, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015 in San Antonio. He was born November 25, 1933 in Shellsburg, Iowa to Peter and Anna Bergen. On September 5, 1954, he married Florence Blumer in Shellsburg, Iowa. \r\n \r\nArdie went to school in Shellsburg, Iowa and worked for the United States Postal Service for 36 years. He was a veteran and served in the Army for 2 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church for many years and served as a Deacon and choir member.\r\n \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Bergen; sister, Betty Olson; sisters-in-law, Edna Bergen, Elverna Bergen and Martha Bergen; and brother-in-law, Arlie Olson.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his wife of 60 years, Florence Bergen; children, Sherry and Frank Duringer, Lisa and Merle Admire, and Kelly Lema; brothers, James Bergen, Harold Bergen and Marvin Bergen; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held Friday, August 7, 2015, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nMemorial services will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015, 11 AM at Trinity Baptist Church officiated by Rev.
