Anna Stehling

Anna Laverne Stehling, age 83 of Ingram, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 in a local hospital. She was born October 29, 1931 in Stonewall, TX to Willie P. Burg and Frieda (Engel) Burg. On April 19, 1952, she married Anton R. "Tony" Stehling.\r\n \r\nAnna graduated from St. Mary's High School in Fredericksburg. She was a librarian and teacher's aide at Ingram Elementary, worked in retail at Beall's Department Store, was a personal caretaker for the elderly and a homemaker, raising five sons.\r\n \r\nShe was proud of her German heritage and enjoyed researching her family tree. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time with her family.\r\n \r\nSurvivors include five sons and their wives, Mike and Theresa Stehling, Greg and Barbara Stehling, Vern and Ginny Stehling, all of Ingram, Don and Carol Stehling of Kerrville and Jeff Stehling of Bandera; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, Delrose Cearley of San Antonio and J.P. Burg and wife, Darlene of Dallas; brothers in law, Clarence Stehling of Harper and Harvey Zoeller of Colorado.\r\n \r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Anton R. Stehling; parents, Willie and Frieda Burg; sisters, Meta Pahl, Cora Brehmer, Willie Mae Nebgen, and Cecilia Haun and brother, Clifton Burg.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2015, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nServices will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015, 12 Noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fredericksburg. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.\r\n \r\nPallbearers will be Mike Stehling, Greg Stehling, Vern Stehling, Don Stehling, Jeff Stehling and Clint Stehling.\r\n \r\nThe family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Klaus Schroeder, Kim Adams of Alpine Terrace, the doctors and staff at Peterson Regional Medical Center and the Burg and Stehling families.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Notre Dame Catholic Church or to the Ingram Volunteer Fire Department.\r\n \r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
