Anna Smith

Anna Marie (Annie) Smith, 77, of San Antonio, TX passed away on October 17, 2014 at North Central Baptist Hospital. She was born in Long Lake, SD to Edward and Anna Marie Zelmer on December 19, 1936. She married Wayne V. Smith on October 18, 1960 in Denver, CO.\r\n\r\nShe went to elementary school in Long Lake, SD and High School in Leola, SD. She also attended Aberdeen School of Commerce in Aberdeen, SD. After her children were grown, she took classes at Aurora Community College in Aurora, CO. She worked at various companies and federal government jobs. She retired from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) in Denver, CO as a Supervisory Systems Accountant on December 31, 1994. She received many awards during her years at DFAS. One of which was a US Treasury Award signed and awarded by the Secretary of Treasury, Nicholas F. Brady.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne V. Smith; daughter, Kari Marie Dutton; both parents, Edward and Anna Zelmer; 2 brothers, Milbert Zelmer and Otto Zelmer; and 1 sister, Alma Weishaar.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her son, David Smith and his wife, Haslinda Smith; her sister, Adeline Zelmer; her brother, Edmond Zelmer; as well as her 5 grandchildren.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be Friday, October 24, 2014, 3-6 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels. \r\n\r\nGraveside services will be held Monday, October 27, 2014, 1:30 PM at Ft.
