Ann Barber Guilott passed away at her residence on Sunday, January 8, 2017.\r\n\r\nMs. Guilott was born in Oxford, Mississippi, on July 5, 1928. She was raised in Baton Rouge where she attended high school and college. She and her late husband, Clyde Guilott, raised their two children in Lake Charles, Louisiana. In 1968, the young Guilott family vacationed at a Bandera-area Dude Ranch and fell in love with the Texas Hill Country, so in 1973 Ann moved making Bandera her permanent home.\r\n\r\nAnn was a gifted artist, but was also known for her enjoyment of world travel, her unfaltering love for her children and a= fondness for animals. She had many friends and will be missed.\r\n\r\nAnn Barber Guilott is survived by her daughter, Gay Guilott of Bandera; son, Robert Guilott; daughter-in-law, Caroline; granddaughter, Sarah Guilott of Lake Charles; sister, Sue Boxill of Brevard, North Carolina.\r\n\r\nThe Guilott Family wishes to thank the staff of Alamo Area Home Hospice, and all of the doctors, nurses and care-givers who provided for Ann during her prolonged illness. A special thank you goes to Tina Leggett for being there at the end. The family wishes to extend their abiding gratitude to Claudia Fuentes, who for seven years provided the love, care, generosity and attention that enabled Ann to remain at home.\r\n\r\nA celebration of life will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera, Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11:00 AM. \r\n\r\nThose who desire may make a memorial gift in Ann's memory to the charity of one's choice.\r\n\r\n
