Andres “Andy” Hinojosa Jr passed away on April 8, 2025, in San Antonio, TX. He was 69 years old. He was born July 5, 1955, in Brownsville, TX to Andres C. Hinojosa and Maria Francisca Acosta Hinojosa.

He attended Brownsville High School but would later enlist in the United States Marine Corps in 1973. He married his high school sweetheart, Christine Ramirez later that year. He received his high school diploma from Matthew C. Perry High School in Iwakuni, Japan in 1975. He achieved the rank of Sergeant and became an instructor at the naval base in Millington, Tennessee. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1977, he attended Texas Southmost College in Brownsville where he received an associate degree. He later attended the University of Texas and transferred to Texas A & I University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1985. He began working for the Air Force at Kelly, and when it closed began working at Brooks then Lackland AFB in San Antonio. He was the Energy Manager for Lackland AFB until he retired in 2018.

During this time, he came to know the Lord and became very active at Castle Hills Pentecostal Church in San Antonio which went on to be Hope Center Church. He won many to the Lord by teaching home bible studies. He touched several lives telling people about salvation. One of his favorite bible verses was Acts 2:38, Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. He instilled in his children the importance of serving God and learning how to pray. Even though he was sick for the last 4 years, he never gave up his love and faith for his Lord. He prayed for his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his great grandchildren and even for those to come. He prayed for his siblings, and he prayed for his country. He was a prayer warrior in his home and never stopped praying. The most important things in his life were God, family and country.

Andy is preceded in death by his parents, Andres C. and Maria Francisca Hinojosa. His brothers: Nicolas and Roberto Hinojosa and sister: Norma Linda Champion.

Andy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Christine; two sons: Andy R. and Ariel Nathaniel Hinojosa and one daughter: Jessie Merie Hernandez (Vincent); three grandchildren: Andy Ryan Hinojosa, Ciara Nicole and Addyson Breanne; and two great grandchildren: Aleia and Genesis; one sister: Alma Gloria Buitron (Dionicio) and two brothers: Genaro Hinojosa (Gina) and Ricardo Hinojosa.
