Amy Stevens

Amy Laura Hillman Stevens, 99, of Bandera, was wrapped in the arms of the Lord and carried home in the early hours on Monday, November 26, 2018. She was born August 8, 1919 in Lima (Medina), Texas to Laura Ellen Coose Hillman and John Casper Hillman.\r\n\r\nShe was a devout Christian woman who prayed daily for her family and all who were in need of the blessings of a prayer. She was the secretary at the First Baptist Church in Bandera for more than 20 years. She retired from this position when she was well into her 80's.\r\n\r\nAmy was reunited in death with her husband, Vic Denton Stevens; her daughter, Sharon Gayle Stevens Hopkins; all 12 of her siblings; her mother, Laura Ellen Coose Hillman; and her father, John Casper Hillman.\r\n\r\nAmy leaves behind to cherish her memories 3 sons and a daughter; Jack Denton Stevens and wife Wanona, Michael Rex Stevens and wife Lora, Charlotte Stevens, and Randall Scott Stevens and wife Patti; grandchildren Michelle Stevens (Jeffrey) Rea, David Harrison, Stephanie Stevens, Alicia Hopkins and Kim Brown. She also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren, extended family members and treasured friends.\r\n\r\nThe family will receive friends from 4 to 6:00 PM Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 AM Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Hillman Cemetery on Farm Road 2107.\r\n\r\nThe family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to her nurse, Marissa and to Peterson Hospice for their care and compassion during this time.
