Allene Burney

Allene Nee Burney, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was born March 8, 1934 in New Braunfels, Texas, and went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2017. \r\n \r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Max Burney; her parents, Daniel Newton and Serena Alice McQuaig; her brother, Daniel Eugene McQuaig; and her sister, Betty Sue Hurley. \r\n \r\nShe is survived by her brother, Marshall Floyd McQuaig and wife Florence of Seguin; her daughter, Sharon Lang and husband, DeWitt of Goodyear, Arizona; five sons, Daniel Burney of Kerrville, Texas, Calvin Timberlake and wife Karen, of Victoria, Texas, Michael Burney of Vanderpool, Texas, Bill Burney and wife Beverly of Vanderpool, Texas and Patrick Burney of Austin, Texas; eleven grandchildren, Serena Jetelina, Curtis Crunk, Krystal Lynn, Amanda Ozuna, Darin Lang, Eric Timberlake, Michael Timberlake, Quila Bailey, Clinton Burney, Dana Koontz and Rebecca Ward; and 15 great-grandchildren. \r\n \r\nAllene grew up in New Braunfels, Texas, but spent significant portions of her life in several Texas gulf coast cities including Van Vleck and Tidehaven before moving to the Hill Country cities of Junction and Kerrville. She spent ten years with her daughter in Goodyear, Arizona but missed Texas and the rest of her family and moved back to Kerrville in 2015. \r\n \r\nFuneral services will be held at 1 PM, Monday, March 6, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels with interment at Center Point Cemetery.\r\n
