Allan John Stettner

Allan John Stettner, 64, of Lakehills, TX passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Allan was born in Morris, MN on March 13, 1960, to John and Rose (McCormack) Stettner. 

He attended school in Hancock, MN, and worked locally until relocating to Texas in 1983 with his wife, Linda (Lehtola). In his 41 years living in TX, Al worked for Hammonds Wood Floors of San Antonio, becoming an incredible craftsman in woodworking and building a beautiful home nestled in the Texas Hill Country. Throughout his years, Al helped provide a sanctuary for many animals that needed a home, rescuing dogs, cats, birds, horses, and even a potbelly pig. Al's kindness and generosity were felt by everyone he met, creating many friendships scattered throughout a lifetime in MN and TX.

Allan is preceded in death by his parents, John and Rose (McCormack) Stettner, stepfather Cyrus Nelson, sister Christine (Jerry) VerSteeg, and great niece Sophia VerSteeg (Chad & Leah). 

Al is survived by his wife, Linda Stettner of Lakehills, TX, sister Linda(Dean) Long of Menahga, MN, nephews Chad(Leah) VerSteeg of Ramsey, MN, Scott(Jenny) VerSteeg of Hancock, MN, Jeff(Nick) VerSteeg of Lakehills, TX, Josh(Cori) Long of Ogden, IA, Jennifer(Rob) Timm of West Salem, WI, brother in laws Craig(Mary), Joel(Mary), Jeff(Ilene) Lehtola, Sister in law Pennie(Mike) Opdahl and many beloved great nieces and nephews. 

Celebration of Life will take place at 1 pm on Saturday, September 28th, 2024, at his home in Lakehills, Texas. 

Honorary Pallbearers will include some of Al's loyal pack, Xander the dachshund, Weedy the Chihuahua, Gator the Terrier, Samantha the Golden Lab, Harley the Orange Tabby, and Molly the Japanese Chin. 

The family of Allan Stettner wishes to extend our sincere appreciation to all the amazing staff at Vitas Hospice for the incredible care they provided. 

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Bandera Funeral Chapel.
