Addie Foster, age 75 of Kerrville, passed away on June 3, 2016 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her family. She was born in Springfield, Massachusetts to Anthony and Francis Manarite on November 5, 1940, where she was raised along with her three siblings until moving to Florida at age 18.\r\n \r\nAddie graduated from nursing school in Florida, and met and married Jimmy Foster. Soon after, they moved to Bandera, TX in 1964 with their first of 3 children. This was her first taste of Texas. Six years later, Addie and Jimmy completed their family by adding Susan Ostenson. Life circumstances brought her full circle back to Massachusetts, Florida and to Bandera. Addie started working at Sid Peterson Hospital and soon after moved her family to Kerrville. She loved working at the hospital and worked in several departments, such as ICU, Medical/surgical, Recovery Room, and finally her most loved department, the Emergency Room. Most will know her for her reputation of mentorship, compassion, dedication, skill, humor and generosity. She was well loved and respected by her peers and patients.\r\n \r\nShe raised her three children, Kim, Deena and Karen here in Kerrville. She was the life of any gathering and enjoyed her grandchildren to the fullest. Addie moved to Liberty Hill, TX upon her retirement at age 62. Soon after, she was diagnosed with lung cancer, and her will for survival carried her through 9 more years. She returned to Kerrville in 2013.\r\n \r\nAddie will be greatly missed by her friends, family and co-workers from the medical community. \r\n \r\nAddie is preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Francis Manarite, and brother Dominic Manarite.\r\n \r\nAddie is survived by her daughters, Kim Foster-Powell, Deena Foster-Caffey and Karen Foster-Glass; siblings, Toni Berti and Michael Manarite; grandchildren, Ashley Hobbs, Chelsey Hobbs, Addie Rose Caffey, Daniel Caffey, and Savvy Glass. \r\n \r\nAt Addie's request, there will be no funeral but a visitation will be held 3 p.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, TX.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, family requests donations to Peterson Hospice and/or American Cancer Society, and Addie's beloved St. Jude's Children's Hospital.\r\n \r\nAddie's family wishes to extend their heart-felt thank you to all hospice workers involved in her care.
